🔫 Ford Focus 1.6 Diesel Wont Start
I'm looking for some help with my 2006 ford focus 1.8 diesel. The car will not start without using easy-start, it tries to start (turning over) but nothing. We have replaced both cam and crank sensors, a new fuel filter (ford genuine part) and bled it using a hand vacuum pump (no air bubbles), new air filter and glow plugs.

Turn off the vehicle and accessories. Disable the ignition system so the vehicle will only crank but not start. Connect the multimeter the same way you did above. Get a helper to turn the ignition on for 15 seconds while you watch the multimeter. If the voltage of the battery goes below 9.6 volts, your battery is weak.
Sync: Sync is achieved when the PCM receives a signal from the Crankshaft sensor (CKP) indicating the sensor is working and the correct signal has been identified by the PCM. If the Crankshaft sensor is working improperly, the PCM cannot calculate engine speed or cylinder position, preventing fuel delivery.

However, for a Ford engine to start, it needs input data from the camshaft position sensor to determine the position of piston #1 relative to the position of the engine valves in cylinder #1. What the PCM is looking for before engine start-up is verification that piston #1 is near the top of its compression stroke and that the intake valve(s
A standard OBD2 reader may be able to read the code, but there a lot of codes that are non-standard, and then you would need a Ford specific system like Forscan to read them. But Forscan only costs about £16 for the adapter if you have access to a Windows laptop, a little more if you can use iOS or Android Apps.

Step 1. Use a digital multimeter to determine the general state of charge and condition of the battery quickly. If some power drain leaves your battery without juice, your car won't start. Turn on the headlights to remove the surface charge and connect the meter across the battery posts. You should have around 12.6 volts.

Hi, I have a ford focus 1.6 diesel and since January the Eco boost setting has vanished from the trip Computer, and stop start works intermittently. I can no longer select what setting I want the car on. I've had my car to a ford dealer and they came up with my battery was low and to put it on charge. That got the stop start working but not Eco
Apologies if this is placed somewhere else, but I have just bought an 06 1.6 TDCi Zetec S fiesta. When started in the morning it seems to have a rough idle with some minor smoke on start-up, drives fine and within 20-30 secs it idles fine, no problems when its warm. I checked the menu on the dash display, it doesn't appear to have any fault
